Carina Fohr

From an early age, Carina has been driven by a curiosity to understand different cultures and their histories. Through academic and professional experiences in China, Japan, and Taiwan, including an internship in the heart of Taiwan, she has developed a strong regional focus on East Asia. Her Bachelor’s in International Studies at Leiden University built a strong foundation in regional history, economics, politics, and culture.
Her current Master’s in European Studies at the Arqus Alliance enables her to draw connections between Europe and East Asia, broadening her academic perspective and offering her a comparative lens.
At the The Hague Institute for Geopolitics, Carina applies her knowledge by contributing to a platform that fosters informed discussion and exchange. She is particularly interested in shedding light on current geopolitical developments and bringing a nuanced, cross-regional perspective to ongoing debates.

“I want to contribute to HIG’s mission by translating my knowledge about East Asia to what it means for Europe. In the process, I am eager to meet experts in the field and to continue learning.”
